MICHELIN STAR FOR RESTAURANT LIZZ*

LIZZ*, symbolises the seasons as a classic, sparkling beauty, giving wonderful flavours, scents and colours to the season. Impeccably laid tables, culinary lunch or dinner on our sun-drenched terrace and the finest wine/food combinations ensure ultimate enjoyment.

In April 2023, restaurant LIZZ* was awarded a Michelin star and Michelin informed: ”With Remco Kuijpers, LIZZ* has a talented chef in house. He puts sensibility on the plate thanks to his excellent techniques. Spices, fruit and subtle Asian acidity give Dutch top products an extra dimension. In Gouda’s most beautiful building – a combination of character, old vaults, bright decoration and luxurious design – a total experience awaits. Right down to the attentive service and surprising wine pairings!”

MICHELIN STAR SHIELD RECEIVED

At the end of June, we received the coveted shield from Michelin. It’s an even better feeling than a diploma!
Recognisable in red, it will soon adorn our historic façade.
Old buildings to which you add quality. In every way, this was what we wanted for the historic Weeshuis.

A place where you are drawn into a culinary bubble. In an environment that inspires and where you can enjoy the energy and passion of the people we have gathered around us.
The Michelin star has triggered a lot within our organisation. Acknowledgement, pride, challenge, the next step and, on top of that, a full restaurant.

Of course, now that the sun is setting so beautifully in the evenings and the evenings are balmy, we are going to make ultimate use of our special courtyard. So see if you can manage to book a table, in case the evenings don’t work out, how about a delicious lunch?
